The Old Butcher Table from Home

This old butcher table was still filled with grease from butchering days in the hills of Virginia. We butchered hogs and cows for a family of 11 children. Lots of meat prepared over the years. My Dad made this table for this purpose from just rough wood, probably never dreamed it would be used to serve food from a kitchen. This table sat in the barn after butchering days were over. One day it was time to divide things from home, I chose this for one of my memories of home. It was sand blasted to remove the grease and rubbed on stain and shipped to California to grace my kitchen.

Great patina on the old table. It just takes years and years to get that wonderful look.
